The Youth of Trinity Presbyterian Church are once again participating in the 30 Hour Famine. The 30 Hour Famine is a fund-raising project of World Vision, the largest global distribution partner of the United Nations’ World Food Program. It is available to youth groups who wish to jointly take a stand against global hunger.
The 30 Hr. Famine gives youth an opportunity to raise funds to help stop global hunger, and on February 23, TPC youth will begin a 30 hour fast. Yes a fast, not eating to understand what hunger feels like. Once the 30 hours is over, we will end our fast by celebrating our Lord’s Supper. This is a very powerful event that truly changes lives not only around the globe but right here at TPC!
Our goal this year is to raise $25,000 and our theme is water scarcity around the globe. Our donations this year will be sent to Puerto Rico to help with the recovery efforts from Hurricane Maria, specifically water related issues.

Hot & Cold Fundraising Event
This Sunday February 11th we invite all of you to join us for ice cream, hot chocolate, cookies, and great fellowship! You can come right after the 11 am service or have lunch and join us for dessert. We will be serving until 2 pm. This will be a very “sweet way” of participating on this mission and it involves no fasting at all.
Why do we do the 30 Hour Famine?
The 30 Hour Famine is a great way for our youth to practice Risk Taking Mission and Service, one of our five core spiritual practices at TPC. By doing the Famine not only are our kids standing together to help the hungry in Jesus’ name, they are learning about the root causes of poverty, and they are experiencing the surprising power and joy of working together to make a difference in the world. An ancient spiritual discipline, fasting helps us break free from the clutter of the world and focus on what matters to God.
Last year, TPC ranked first in the nation among all the churches raising funds. Only with your help we can continue to make this type of impact. Please, donate below and help the TPC youth with this mission. If you have any questions, please contact Tami or Miriam.
