“You are dust, and to dust you shall return,” Genesis 3:19
Ash Wednesday is the Beginning of Lent, the first step toward the Cross, and the Resurrection.
Join us for our Ash Wednesday service at 7 pm in the Great Hall as we begin our journey through the 40 days of Lent. On Ash Wednesday we each receive the mark of the cross in ashes on our foreheads, a reminder of our mortality; we begin the reflective period of Lent with this mark of humility.
Lent is the traditional time when Christians everywhere remember Jesus’ journey to the cross. This Lenten season we will be talking about the dark times of life, the times of loss, frustration, failure and temptation. But Christ calls us to remember that God is often most present when we feel most alone. God has gifts for us, even during our times in the Dark Wood of life.
This service is one of many opportunities to connect with God through Passionate Worship at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
