Palm Sunday is a surprising day of excitement in the midst of the solemnity of Lent.
Palm Sunday portrays Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The people saw him as the long awaited Messiah who would restore Israel to greatness, greeting him shouts of joy and waving palm branches.
At our Palm Sunday services 8:30 and 11:00am, the children enthusiastically reenact this event. We all greet Jesus, waving palm fronds and calling out Hosanna! as he enters, a beloved beginning to Holy Week. Lent is the traditional time when Christians everywhere remember Jesus’ journey to the cross. This Lenten season TPC is exploring the Gospel of John.
PALM SUNDAY SELFIE PHOTO BOOTH
This year, all are invited to make your first stop at our Palm Sunday Selfie Photo Booth! Come by and step into fun for the whole family, and your friends, too. There will be a donkey, costumes and props to use in your photo. Our TPC Selfie Booth will be up and running from 7:45am until 12:30pm. Helpers will be there to take photos with your own smart phone, capturing the moment in the crowd with your family and friends as you joyfully greet Jesus, shouting “Hosanna” and waving palm branches on his Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem.
This service is one of many opportunities to connect with God through Passionate Worship at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
