Director of Early Childhood Ministry
Helen Fitzhugh grew up in Dallas, Texas. She went to Texas A&M University and earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in Early Childhood.
After graduation in 2001, she and Matt married, moved to McKinney and joined TPC. Helen taught kindergarten for six years before her son, Brock, was born in 2007 and she decided to stay home with him. Since then her family has grown to include daughters, Reese and Delaney.
Helen volunteered with Trinity Tots for three years before becoming the Director of Early Childhood Ministry. She is passionate about our youngest members and finds true joy in welcoming the children of TPC to be an important part of our church family.
Directory of Elementary Ministry
Danielle was an educator who thoroughly enjoyed her seven year employment as a high school teacher in Plano ISD. She is a lifelong Presbyterian. Danielle and her husband, Dan, joined TPC in 2012 and became members of TPC’s “Time Out” Sunday School Class. Danielle loved volunteering for Vacation Bible School. They have three children, Jarrett, Avery, and Loralei.
Danielle is thrilled with the opportunity to work more closely with friends at TPC. She looks forward to getting to know the many parents and volunteers and, especially, the children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Director of Youth Ministry
Tami Voyles grew up in Houston, TX, and attended First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena. After graduating from J. Frank Dobie High School, she attended Texas A&M University where she earned a Liberal Arts degree in English Literature. Along with this, Tami is also a Certified Christian Educator within the Presbyterian Church(USA).
While at Texas A&M, Tami met her husband, Bradley. After graduation, Tami moved to Dallas where Bradley was already working. They were married in 1993 and soon moved to McKinney. They immediately joined TPC and began working with the youth. Their first group consisted of just 4 youth!
After volunteering for seven years, Tami joined the staff as the Logos Director in 2000. After changes in the structure of the program, she was given the job of Youth Ministry Director. Many changes have occurred in the youth department over the years, including our number of youth, but one thing has remained constant and that is Tami’s passion for youth ministry. Tami and Bradley have 3 children: Brett, Jade and Devon.
JR High Youth Director
Miriam Ross grew up in Starkville, Mississippi and then moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a teenager. She earned a BA in Communication with a focus in Public Relations and a double minor in History and Political Science from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. Miriam has been a lifelong Presbyterian, even meeting her husband Andrew, at the Montreat Youth Conference as a youth.
In May 2008, Miriam married Andrew. They traveled to Montreat as small group leaders where Miriam realized of her love for working with youth. The Ross family moved to McKinney in 2009. Soon after, they began volunteering with the Youth ministry and in 2011 Miriam became part of the TPC staff.
Miriam loves all things youth-related and the Ross family are avid Montreat Youth Conference attendees. She loves spending time with the youth both in the church and out. Miriam and Andrew have 3 children: Kaylie, Emalyn and Sawyer.
Director of Senior Programming and Congregational Care
Sherry has a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Prior to having children, she worked as a Nursing Home Administrator and Activities Director.
Sherry and her husband, Jeff, have been members of TPC for several years. She has served the church in a variety of roles including coordinator for the Orientation to Trinity class, MOPS Coordinator, MOPS Prayer Care leader, and VBS and preschool volunteer. She is currently a Sunday School and Small Group leader and serves on the Evangelism and Communication Committees.
Jeff and Sherry have two young daughters, Claire and Ruth. Sherry is a life-long Presbyterian and an ordained Elder and Deacon.
As Director of Senior Programming and Congregational care, Sherry leads the team of TPC volunteers who work passionately to provide programming and support to TPC’s senior members. In addition, she serves as the staff liaison to the Deacons.
Director of Music Ministry
Don Roberts was named Music Ministries Director in November, 2012. Prior to this expanded role, he directed the Trinity Choir and the Trinity Ringers for six years.
In keeping with his West Texas roots, Don graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX, with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. After a three-year tour in the U.S. Army in Germany, he returned to the States and earned a Masters of Church Music degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
Don served as Minister of Music for Baptist churches in Texas until retiring to McKinney in 2003. Shortly after arriving, he and his wife, Carol Ann, became part of the TPC family. Both Don and Carol Ann have found a spiritual home as well as a place of service for their musical gifts and experience.
In addition to her responsibilities as church accompanist, Carol Ann is a retired 6th grade English teacher. She currently works for Region X as a professional development consultant, and accompanies various school choirs in Collin County. Don and Carol Ann have one son, Benjamin, who is finishing a Masters degree in Music Education and Voice at SMU, and plans to continue his career as a middle school choral music director.
Song and Praise Team Leader
Jennifer is our song leader in worship each Sunday. She also assists in worship music planning and she coaches our small ensemble groups and guest soloists. Jennifer has been a part of Trinity Presbyterian Church of McKinney Texas since the Fall of 2013; she joined TPC immediately after finishing graduate school. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Music from University of Louisiana in Monroe, and a Master of Music from University of Redlands, California. She has performed in many musicals and operas, and produces an annual music recital for TPC’s Women’s Ministry. Jennifer also owns Jennifer’s Voice and Piano Studio, where she coaches many talented and aspiring musicians, including some of TPC’s members.
