Join us for our Ash Wednesday service in the Great Hall as we begin our journey through Lent, 40 days of reflection on the meaning of Jesus’ life as the living, breathing, human Word of God and his death as “the ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).
On Ash Wednesday we each receive the mark of the cross in ashes on our foreheads. These ashes come from last year’s Palm Sunday palm branches, a reminder that all things die in this life. The mark made by ashes reminds a stubborn, individualistic people that we are all created by God and that we are not independent, but dependent on God and fellow human beings for our whole life and being.
Childcare will be available for children in 2nd grade and under.
