Summer is supposed to be a wonderful time for kids – but many struggle with food insecurity causing them to worry about their next meal, not what fun they can have.
When the McKinney schools are closed for summer, nearly 9,000 McKinney children need help with food subsistence because families cannot afford rent, utilities, medical bills AND food.
This summer the Community Lifeline Center will be implementing a “Sack Summer Hunger” program to help feed McKinney children. TPC has committed to change the world for 40 Scott Johnson School children and their families by pledging to raise $3,200 for the summer food sacks and volunteer to deliver them each week this summer.
How can you help:
During the months of March and April, donate funds to cover the cost of the weekly food sacks.
Over the summer, volunteer to help deliver the sacks each Saturday morning from May 30th to August 8th.
