After 37 years of ordained ministry (the last 25.9 here at Trinity) it’s hard to imagine not getting up on Sunday morning to preach at least once. Preaching and writing have been the central tasks of my adult life. I will be preaching four of the five Sundays in June and I’ve titled this series: Concluding Unscientific Postscript.
The first sermon is called “The Communion of Saints” and following the sermon we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper once more together. Paul’s Letter to the Romans contains a long, long greeting to Christians in Rome, a place he has never preached. Yet he appears to know many of the brothers and sisters of Christ in Rome. I will be preaching on the power and meaning of our enduring connection through Christ Jesus our Lord.
