The goal of the Music Ministry at Trinity Presbyterian Church of McKinney Texas is for our music to uplift the spirit and to complement and re-enforce God’s word.
We are guided by the following principles:
- The music chosen each week will reflect the theme of that Sunday’s worship and preaching.
- Our worship music will reflect the early Church practice of including psalms, hymns and spiritual songs as described by the Apostle Paul in Letters to the Ephesians and Colossians. The music will include traditional and contemporary styles and will come from a variety of cultures.
- Our musical program will make use of many different instruments including organ, piano, drums, brass, woodwinds and stringed instruments including the contemporary versions of these instruments. Their purpose will be to assist in congregational singing and to draw attention to God’s love and creative power.
Throughout the year our groups have special singing and performance opportunities such as the Christmas Cantata, Youth Sunday, Praise Kids, Handbells and more. During the Summer we regularly invite guest artists to sing and play during our worship services.
The Music Ministry has many groups and ensembles of all ages. Visit us at the church to see the ministry at work and to learn about opportunities for you to participate.
