There are many ways to serve at Trinity. From Sunday School teacher to Home Communion drivers, we have a spot for you! Check out some options below.
Worship Volunteers
Trinity has a variety of places you can serve on Sunday mornings! Ushers hand out bulletins and welcome all who enter worship. They escort first time guests to the Welcome Center and collect the offering during worship. Worship Prep volunteers assist in setup for worship on Sunday mornings. Their job includes setting out parament (tablecloth), cross and candle, filling candles with oil, making sure pencils and Check-In Cards are in chair back pockets, etc. Hospitality Greeters welcome all who enter through an assigned entrance and escort first time guests to the Welcome Center. Worship Center Greeters welcome all first time visitors and answer any questions they may have. They give them a welcome bag with information about the church, a loaf of visitor bread, and introduce them to the appropriate Christian Education leaders if they have children. Pro Presenter Techs run the computer that controls the slides on the projector screens during worship. Looking for a tech opportunity? This is a great spot for you! Training is provided for volunteers who serve in each of these areas.
Music Ministry Volunteers
Do you enjoy music? We have spaces for you! Trinity Choir. Trinity Choir meets each Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Great Hall. All singers are welcome. Trinity Ringers, a handbell group, meets on Sunday afternoons at 6:00 pm. They ring in worship services about 6-7 times per year. The Uke Troupe meets once a month to enjoy fellowship and some laid back ukulele playing. They play in worship 2-3 times per year.
Elementary Ministry Volunteers
Interested in investing in the spiritual lives of our elementary aged students? Engage in a teaching ministry with children that emphasizes community, learning and fun! Teachers are responsible for reading lesson plans ahead of time and guiding children through lessons during the Sunday School hour. Curriculum and training are provided. Shepherds help facilitate learning and foster a positive and connected Sunday School environment. Shepherds help children participate in Sunday School lessons and assist Sunday School teachers as necessary. Children’s Chapel volunteer’s help lead Children’s Chapel during the sermon portion of worship through interactive Bible stories, games and activities. The Parenting Group Steering Committee is looking for more members. Join them as they reimagine a group for stay-at-home parents.
Youth Ministry Volunteers
Interested in serving with our youth? Our dynamic youth ministry is fun for all ages! Logos teachers teach our youth on Wednesday nights. Dinner is included and childcare is provided. Sunday School teachers team teach with another volunteer on Sunday mornings between services during the school year. Chaperones and drivers assist the ministry as needed for big events such as lock-ins, retreats, 30 Hour Famine, and more!
Senior Ministry Volunteers
JOY (Just Older Youth) needs volunteers to assist in planning events for JOY senior adult activities. Help come up with ideas, organize and advertise the activities within the church. Participate in the activities as desired.
Caring Ministries Volunteers
Trinity has many thriving caring ministries for our members! Our Bereavement Ministry volunteers provide a dish and help serve at memorial services held at the church. Home Communion Drivers deliver gift bags containing the Lord’s Supper to the porch of members who are unable to attend worship due to health concerns. Volunteers in our Driving Ministry provide rides to members who need help getting to appointments or running errands due to illness or other life event. Caring Cooks provide meals to families of Trinity in need due to illness or other life event.
Affiliate Ministry Volunteers
Trinity partners with ministries throughout the community. Streetside Showers in McKinney provides showers, clothing, food and hospitality for the local homeless population. This volunteer position would greet people and assist with the distribution of clothing and personal care products while getting to know your homeless neighbors. McKinney Free Little Pantry needs volunteers to visit each of the 3 pantries on the west side of McKinney. Duties include inspecting the pet pantry and collecting donations, checking food quality, stocking needed items. Seniors Helping Seniors pairs handy retired volunteers with elderly community members who need simple home repairs completed. Nothing complex or demanding.
Building Ministries Volunteer
Trinity also has plenty of options for those wanting to serve as they can to help care for our building. The Trinity Pretty Committee helps plan and execute various interior decorating needs at the church. The next project will be the Early Childhood wing of the church. Kitchen Clean-Out Volunteers work with a team to clean, purge and organize the Trinity kitchen. Are you a handy with tools? Trinity could always use a helping hand in making building repairs as part of our Building Maintenance Volunteer group.
