By Reverend Woody Brown
My Dear Trinity Friends,
This is a significant Sunday (at least it is for me). Sunday, July 7, 2019 marks the first Sunday with our new pastoral relationship. During the next four Sundays, we will look to the Gospel of Luke asking the question: “How Shall We Live?”
I. with Purpose
II. Neighborly
III. with Priorities
IV. Close to God
Jennifer, Russell, Parker and I are so very excited to be part of the Trinity Church family. I am deeply honored to serve as your new pastor. Trinity has a tremendous history of being a strong and dynamic congregation. Your ministry is well known throughout Grace Presbytery and the country. A few days after Easter, I was in Atlanta with a group of Presbyterian pastors. I mentioned Trinity in McKinney and the Rev. Jack Baca from Rancho Santa Fe, California said, “I know that church. It is an awesome church!”
I offer my most heartfelt thanks to the Rev. Patrick McCoy. Patrick served and led Trinity with intelligence, imagination, and love. I cannot begin to “fill his shoes,” nor will I attempt to so. I will be forever grateful for his wonderful ministry and thankful for his lasting legacy in the life of our church and community.
As we begin a new day at Trinity Presbyterian Church, please know how honored and excited I am. I look forward to our journey. Together we will grow, serve, and love for the sake of Christ.
I hope you will be with us in worship.
-Woody
