As we look toward the future, we are happy to announce the results of a multi-month project by the Strategic Planning Committee. Composed of members, deacons, elders, staff, and clergy, this committee met in the Spring of 2022 to discuss a 3-year strategic plan for the future of Trinity.
At their first planning meeting, they agreed that the four areas of focus would be:
Member Engagement:
- Broaden and deepen our members’ experiences of the joy and challenge of the 5G life.
Technology:
- Enhance our digital discipleship to engage all generations.
- Develop plans for digital growth and improvement.
Finances:
- Inspire all members to a higher level of giving by embracing extravagant generosity.
Facilities:
- Create an inviting space to fulfill God’s mission for Trinity.
Below you will find more detailed descriptions of these objectives, a step-by-step plan to achieve the objective, and a cost and benefit analysis.
Member Engagement
Strategy: Create easy access to opportunities to build relationships and community.
Specific Result: Inspire the less engaged members of the congregation to get involved in a way that is meaningful and fulfilling to them.
Strategy: Ensure that each member has opportunities to be known and heard.
Specific Result: Create community through a broad offering of interests that will enable new and long-term members feel a sense of connection and belonging.
What we’ve accomplished so far: Thanks to our action team, we’ve created a new Sunday School class to help connect new members to the church community. Next up, we hope to add more opportunities for fellowship and connection through new and improved fall activities!
Technology
Strategy: Develop plans for digital growth and improvements.
Specific Results:
Develop a process to analyze and update existing technology to enhance member and visitor experience at Trinity.
Develop and implement a technology plan to provide Radical Hospitality in addressing the needs of all disabled existing members, future members, visitors, and guests who interact with Trinity both in person and online.
What we’ve accomplished so far: Thanks to our action team, we’ve updated the website and livestream page to make them easier to use and more functional. Next up, as part of our practice of Radical Hospitality, we hope to add subtitles and other technology advancements that make our online presence as accessible as possible to anyone interested in Trinity.
Finance
Strategy: Educate and communicate regarding the people, programs, and passions supported by our sustained annual giving to inspire full participation in pledging.
Specific Result: Increase the number of giving units by 50 in 2022.
What we’ve accomplished so far: Thanks to our action team, we’re changing the way we update the church on our financials in order to make the process more frequent and more transparent. Our next step is to incorporate those changes into our routine communications.
Facilities
Strategy: Develop utility independence, expand or remodel to meet our future needs, and ensure facilities are inviting to all.
Specific Results:
Develop and initiate a plan to purchase the 3.937-acre tract located directly south of the church property.
Create a facility expansion and renovation master plan to meet the future facility and programming needs.
Develop a 5–7-year plan to continue the work toward electrical utility independence.
What we’ve accomplished so far: Thanks to our action team, we’ve researched the tract of land behind our church, communicated with the owner, and are in the process of negotiating a possible purchase.
